HB110 & 1337 - Incremental Housing
In 2024, Washington State passed two bills to address the ongoing housing crisis. HB1110 requires increased density (duplex through sixplex) throughout the state, and HB1337 requires urban growth areas across the state to adopt accessory dwelling unit codes similar to Seattle’s.

Cross-Laminated Timber ADUs
Prepared for the Natural Resources Innovation Center in Port Angeles, this study examines the market for detached accessory dwelling units throughout the Puget Sound region and onto the Olympic Peninsula. Available data clearly demonstrate that Seattle led the region on development of DADUs and small housing.

Local ADU / DADU Regulations
By the second half of 2025, King, Snohomish and Pierce Counties will have substantial changes to where and how ADUs and DADUs can be built and sold. The expansion of non-owner-occupied ADUs outside of the City of Seattle creates a substantial opportunity for current and future homeowners, as well as developers.
